Sloth — Privacy Policy

Information Sloth handles

To identify and control supported media sessions, Sloth may temporarily read the following information from open YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, and Gaana tabs:

• The supported tab's URL and page title
• Media title, provider, artwork URL, and playback state
• Whether playback actions such as play, pause, previous, next, and repeat are available
• The state of the provider's visible media controls

Chrome Web Store policy may classify tab URLs and website content as user data. Sloth uses this information only to provide the media controls described above.

Collection, transmission, and storage

Supported-tab and media-session information is processed locally on your device. It is kept in memory only while needed to display the popup or sessions dashboard. Sloth does not transmit this information to FrootyStudios or any analytics, advertising, or tracking service, and does not maintain an external database of it.

Artwork supplied by a media provider may be loaded from that provider's own content-delivery service. Those requests are subject to the provider's privacy policy and are not received or stored by FrootyStudios.

Permissions and why they are used

• tabs — find open supported media tabs, identify sessions, switch to a selected source tab, refresh a tab when the user asks, and open Sloth pages.
• scripting — reconnect Sloth's packaged content scripts to an already-open supported tab after installation, update, extension reload, or browser restart.
• alarms — run a lightweight periodic connection check for supported media tabs.
• youtube.com, spotify.com, and gaana.com host access — read media state and invoke playback controls only on the supported provider pages.

Sloth does not request access to every website. It does not access cookies, passwords, authentication tokens, downloads, bookmarks, clipboard contents, or personal communications.

Third parties and remote code

Sloth contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDK and does not download or execute remote code. Its content scripts and controllers are packaged with the extension. Sloth interacts with supported provider pages already open in your browser; use of those services remains governed by each provider's own terms and privacy policy.

Optional uninstall feedback

When Sloth is uninstalled, Chrome may open an optional feedback form hosted by Google Forms. You may close the page without submitting anything. If you choose to submit a response, the information you enter is provided to FrootyStudios through Google Forms and is also processed by Google under Google's applicable privacy terms. Feedback is used only to understand problems and improve Sloth.

Data sharing and sale

FrootyStudios does not sell Sloth user data. Sloth does not share supported-tab or media-session information with FrootyStudios, advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated third parties. Voluntary uninstall feedback is handled as described above.

Data retention and deletion

Sloth does not persist supported-tab or media-session information in an external service. In-memory session data is discarded when the relevant extension page closes or its runtime context ends. To stop all local processing, close supported tabs, disable Sloth, or uninstall the extension. For deletion requests concerning feedback you voluntarily submitted, contact us using the address below.

Children's privacy

Sloth is a general-purpose browser utility and is not directed to children. FrootyStudios does not knowingly use Sloth to collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If Sloth's data practices or this policy change, the updated policy will be published on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be disclosed as required by applicable Chrome Web Store policies.
